I wonder how I look on the outside
Whether I'll have someone beside
Does it matter ' my cover '
Or is the inside just for me to discover.
Do they judge me by my looks
Or the way I read books
Do they judge me by my color
Or don't even care that I have valor
Do they judge me by my origin
Or by whether I drink gin
Do they judge me by my weight
Or by the way I make a mate
Do they judge me by my height
Or the way I'm always high and bright.
Some say they don't care
For them its easy to bear
Some care way too much
For them it is wrenching as such.
But I wish we could all
See ourselves the way we see our friends
So that we could remember always
That we don't need to make any amends.
