Yes, two completely irrelated things but part of my new series of pieces " Putting two and two together".
Anyways my dad just now presented me with this gorgeous , moist chocolate walnut brownie and it was an unbelievable stress buster. Considering the fact that 50% of the worlds population is obese , I blame stress which further leads to two things brownies (stress eating) and driving(lack of physical exercise). Just that control a person has over his/her food intake and speed is a thrill in itself.
I have no idea whether this piece is going to be entertaining but all I'm going to do is present a teenagers view on well brownies and driving cause brownies + driving = stress ( difficult to believe , but let me make my case.), which lets face it everybody in school right now is facing.
Starting with brownies the pure chocolate delight , well atleast for me are little bits of ambrosia which 90% of the time I can't say no to. The sugar rush in itself is a treat not to forget the humungous amounts of sugar involved which is like a drug to a sweet tooth like me. When do I start eating or to rephrase binge eating ? when I am stressed ofcourse. This leads to either obesity or eating disorders among 60% of the youth approximately in the world.
Coming to driving , it is a talent we all wish to have , just to have that moment of attaining a license early enough to flaunt before we leave our schools and junior colleges basically our childhood , so as to leave the nest and discover ourselves in another place , another kind of childhood. The thrill of speeding or having control of that huge junk of metal is indescribable a feeling of invincibility sets in by the time we turn from learners licence to the permanent one. But the only time we lose control is when we are controlled stress.
So basically what I wanted to portray was how two such different things could all lead to the same factor. Its fascinating to me as how these small things in life are interlinked and how each of these can influence our fate.
All I'd like to say is "Go to the mattresses" which is from the Godfather and which basically means stress is your enemy and you have to go to war and initiate everything to overcome it cause well with stress its not 'personal ' its business.
Alamelu .

ReplyDeleteokay now seriously...that is an amazing one...
all set and done....not having any stress is a stress of its own!! you miss it sometimes..!!.. not the result of it[the brownies and bingeing]....but surely miss the 'go beyond your boundaries' thing
True true stress makes us test our own limits but I for one can live without the drama ;)
